Junior Golf World

Top tips

No matter what standard your golf is right now, everyone has room for improvement. Its therefore our intention to dedicate a whole section of the site to improving your game. With tips from professionals and young juniors who have already made their mark on the game.

Over the last few weeks I have had the good fortune of weekly lessons from Adrian Hill who is the PGA professional at Portal Golf Club in Cheshire. Adrian runs probably the best equipped golf academy in Cheshire and is an excellent coach. In the last three weeks we've been working on my grip, stance and posture, with remarkable results. Finding a good coach is absolutely vital if you are going to take the game seriously, and just because your club pro offers coaching, does not mean he's your personal David Leadbetter. Coaching is a skill in itself and requires more than a scratch handicap and PGA badge. So, if your club pro couldn't motivate you out of a burning car, or you believe that your best interests are not right at the top of his priority list, quit paying him and find someone else.

Mygolfexperience

As I mentioned in my Blog I have recently been contacted by the team at mygolfexperience.com who have put together an excellent incentive for all our Junior members. The site offers a suite of tools to analyse your game including a score card tracker and a full statistics pack. The idea is that you join and then allow your coach to use the tools to analyse your game and come up with drills to help you eradicate the problems that the statistics highlight. If you want to take advantage you have to register your coaching pro and his academy. Click on this link and register.
